The camera diagnostic tool SOMIC Eagle makes faults visible. Multiple cameras integrated into the machine record the packaging process from different perspectives and correlate the video footage with real-time machine data. The result: precise analyses and significantly faster solutions.

How SOMIC Eagle works – in four steps

The operator reports the problem to the technician. The technician can directly access the SOMIC Eagle diagnostic website.

The technician can review the development of the problem (last 30 seconds) from multiple camera angles and reliably reconstruct the behavior of the machine and the product with all required supplementary information.

The technician can quickly resolve the problem—without having to rely on guesswork—because the actual cause can be seen in the video.

If further assistance is required, the video can be downloaded and sent manually to the SOMIC Service – for even faster, data-driven remote support.

SOMIC Eagle is available for all current SOMIC packaging machines. We are happy to assess retrofitting or implementation for older SOMIC models and special versions upon request.

With SOMIC Connect, modern service is immediately within reach: the machine automatically collects all relevant diagnostic data and, in the event of a fault, transmits them to SOMIC Service in a consolidated form. This allows problems to be analyzed more quickly and solutions to be implemented in a targeted manner – without detours and with minimal delay.

  • Faster problem resolution: The SOMIC Service immediately receives all required information for a precise analysis.

How SOMIC Connect works – in four steps

The operator presses the "Help me SOMIC" button on the HMI and enters the error description and the email address for feedback.

The machine then sends a standardized diagnostic data package to SOMIC. With the optionally installed camera diagnostic system SOMIC Eagle, the package additionally includes the video footage of the event.

The SOMIC Remote Service can analyze the case as effectively as possible based on the provided data and devise a targeted solution.

The SOMIC Service sends the resolution by e-mail or connects directly to the machine via remote access.

Frequently Asked Questions about SOMIC Digital Services

SOMIC Eagle is a camera diagnostic tool integrated into SOMIC packaging machines. Multiple cameras record the packaging process from different perspectives and link the video footage with real-time machine data. If a problem occurs, the last sequence of recordings is automatically saved. This makes the causes of faults visible and enables precise analysis.

SOMIC Connect is an automated service platform. At the push of a button on the HMI, the machine collects all relevant diagnostic data and sends them bundled to the SOMIC Service – for rapid, targeted fault analysis.

Yes, both tools can be used independently. When combined, however, they achieve their full potential, as SOMIC Connect also automatically sends the Eagle video data.

SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect are available for all current machine series SOMIC 202, SOMIC 323 and SOMIC 434. For older models and special configurations, we assess retrofit feasibility on a case-by-case basis.

Data transmission is carried out either via a secure, encrypted connection using standards-compliant remote access protocols or - without a direct Internet connection to the machine - by e-mail.

SOMIC Connect sends a standardized diagnostic data package with all relevant machine data – including the operator's description of the fault and, if SOMIC Eagle is installed, additional video footage of the last sequence before the event.
